Setting Up Zones, Aisles, Shelves, and Bins

Zones tell your team exactly where to find or place an item. A well-organised zone system speeds up picking and reduces mistakes.

Zone Hierarchy

storq.io uses a four-level hierarchy:

1. Zone - a large area of the warehouse (for example, "Ambient Storage" or "Cold Room").
2. Aisle - a row within a zone.
3. Shelf - a vertical level on a rack.
4. Bin - an individual slot where items sit.

You do not need to use all four levels. Use as many as make sense for your space.

How to Add Zones

1. Open a warehouse from the Warehouses page.
2. Click Zones, then New Zone.
3. Enter a Zone, Aisle, Shelf, and Bin as needed.
4. Click Create Zone.

Printing Labels

Each zone has a printable barcode label. Click the label icon next to any zone to open a print-ready page. Stick the label on the physical shelf or bin so staff can scan it during picking.
